Middle Ages Contraception

Did you know???

A popular form of contraception in the Middle Ages was an animal bladder, tied with twine, which was used --and re-used-- as a condom.

WHAT!!! I just turned the TV to the History channel on a show titled "History of Sex" and this is the first thing I see.

Ewwwwwwwwwww.....

Another interesting fact:

There are apocryphal tales of Aztec women defending their town against the Spaniards in a rather novel fashion... by exposing their buttocks and dousing their adversaries with breast milk.

I can't stop laughing at this image in my head now. Especially since I am a breast feeding mom right now.
