"God said He is still working on it"

This boy, he turned 5 last week. 

Five.

5!

 

He had a VeggieTales and Dress Up birthday party. 

We painted pumpkins, played with hulee hoops (Hula Hoops), built things with his new Lincoln Logs and ran and played. On the day of his birthday I kissed him, told him how much I loved him and how proud I was to be his mommy...then I got onto a plane and left for 8 days. 

I wish I could walk around behind him and record everything he says during this stage of his life. I don't want to forget any of it. He loves his family so much. He is an amazing little helper and can clean like a pro! He is best at organizing. {Thank you Jesus!} The lights have clicked on recently with letters and sounds and writing. Watching growth is the best. 

Today's conversation though....has to be the best.

Me: 

River, what do you like about yourself?

River: 

"The thing I like about me is God. Because I love God. Cause we love God right? Last night daddy and I were praying for people for God to be in their life…to be a choice to be in their hearts. God is working on it. God said he is still working on it."

If only I could bottle this moment forever!
