Will I go?

I realized the other day that I have never posted any pictures on my blog from James' trip to Kenya a year ago. Here are a few of my favorites.

My father will be going again in October, and is already talking to James about going with him. I have received emails from some of the ladies over there requesting that I come someday. I don't know how I feel about that. What I do know is that I can not read or look at Mckmama's Kenya blog posts, twitter updates without easily coming to tears. Yes, I have been choked up before when thinking about children living in these conditions...but for some reason right now my emotions are extremely sensitive to it all right now. What that means...I don't know. I think that when I have read Jennifer's words about wanting God to "break her" while she is there, so that she can experience every emotion there is to experience...that seems to be the words that really get to me. Never before have I wanted God to "break me"..never have I ever surrendered myself to be completely 100% at his mercy...I have asked for his mercy of course...but under my comfortable conditions. I can completely relate to what she says about the years before this trip where she knew what was going on over there..but didn't really want to think or look at it because she knew that truly learning and experiencing it would require her to change some things in her own life. Not wanting to be willing to give up some of the extra's that we live with. Not wanting to sacrifice anything for the cause.

This picture of this old Kenyan man is my favorite of all the pictures James took.
This is a toy made mostly out of wire.
Another picture of the wire toy.
A ball made out of plastic bags. Before James left the host family that he stayed with the majority of his trip. He bought each child their own toy. They didn't have any toys before then and were so excited that they even slept with their toys.
Instruments
Boys playing.
Children playing. These were the children that attended the daycare that was in the host home James stayed in.
Classroom
Desks and books
A mud house.
Beautiful babies!
These 2 boys were actually running away from their group scared because they had never seen white men before.
Some of the many goats that roam free.
Roosters that roam free.
Beauty.
In this last picture, I can barely stand to look at that sad desperation in the little girls eyes on the right side of the picture.
