Next up...my blogging friends Sarah Mae and Sally Clarkson have a phenomenal book that is being released on Monday called "Desperate: Hope for the mom who needs to breath" This book is the first of its kind...and I believe is going to start a revolution amongst mothers. To have our hearts knit together for the common goal of helping each other...not to be against each other, or judging others, or any of that hurtful stuff us women can do so easily sometimes. Sarah Mae is the young mother in the midst of raising her 3 little ones...the one who cried out in desperation, hoping to find relief. God heard her cries and gave her a match made in heaven...Sally Clarkson. Sally is the wise "mature" mother...whose children are now grown. She has grace and patience and understands. She evokes wisdom into the places that seem hopeless. This book is for those who have whispered "I just can't be a mom today".

One of the first things I read in the book was the beautiful forward written by Ann Voskamp. She said "I’ve lain in bed too scared to get up and ruin another day—ruin my kids" Wow, that hit me! I have definitely had those same thoughts.

Sarah Mae wrote "Her own pain came out in sarcastic, unnurturing, unsympathetic, unmotherly ways." and also..."The days became long and impossible. Taking care of my children was too hard. Being a good wife was too hard. Cleaning, creating life, living . . . was just too hard"

Sally Clarkson wrote "Becoming a mother is a role that most women are ill-prepared for or ill-trained to understand, yet it has such vast consequences in the course and direction of history. I have even come to believe that a mother’s role might be the most determining factor as to how history will unfold."

"Desperate is for those who love their children to the depths of their souls but who have also curled up under their covers, fighting back tears, and begging God for help. It’s for those who have ever wondered what happened to all their ideals for what having children would be like. For those who have ever felt like all the “experts” have clearly never had a child like theirs. For those who have prayed for a mentor. For those who ever felt lost and alone in motherhood.

In Desperate you will find the story of one young mother’s honest account of the desperate feelings experienced in motherhood and one experienced mentor’s realistic and gentle exhortations that were forged in the trenches of raising her own four children.

It is our prayer that reading Desperate will leave you soul-filled, refreshed, and hopeful."

This is a book you will definitely want to purchase...and one for your friends, and sisters.....
I am now leading a support group on Facebook for moms of teens...called Desperate: Hope for the mom of teens

One more iron I have in the fire I have right now is a support group for women battling through trying to lose weight. This support group is based on the new ebook "100 Pound Loser"written by the lovely Jessica Heights. I will be writing more about this very soon. This is a big change for my life and I am very excited to share more with you.

AND finally...right this very minute I am writing to you from Bloomington Illinois. Today I decided to pack up my 19 month old and head out on the open road. Originally with no real plan...but we are officially heading to Ohio to see my sister! I also picked up my mom along the way and added her to the adventure!

and that's a wrap!
